Pet Transport Terms & Conditions

Terms & Conditions for our Pet Transport Services.

1. General

AJ’s Pet Services provides safe and reliable pet transport services for:

  • Vet appointments

  • Boarding kennels

  • Day care

  • Grooming appointments

  • Weddings & events

  • Collection & drop-offs

  • Emergency call-outs (subject to availability)

All pets are transported with care and handled by an experienced, insured and canine first aid-trained handler.

2. Insurance & Safety

AJ’s Pet Services is fully insured for pet transport services.

Where possible, dogs will travel in secure, crash-tested crates fitted within the vehicle. Some giant breeds or unusually sized pets may travel using an approved safety restraint or seatbelt attachment where a crate is not suitable.

By booking transport, owners acknowledge and accept the transport method used for their pet.

All reasonable precautions are taken to ensure your pet’s safety at all times; however, AJ’s Pet Services cannot be held responsible for:

  • Illness, injury or death resulting from pre-existing medical conditions

  • Stress-related illness during transport

  • Escape attempts caused by poorly fitted collars/harnesses supplied by the owner

  • Delays caused by traffic, accidents, road closures or weather conditions

  • Incidents outside of our reasonable control

3. Owner Responsibilities

Owners must:

  • Ensure all pets are fit and healthy for travel

  • Inform AJ’s Pet Services of any behavioural concerns, medical conditions, allergies or anxieties before transport

  • Ensure pets are up to date with vaccinations where required by boarding kennels/day care providers/vets

  • Provide secure collars, harnesses and leads

  • Ensure boarding/day care/vet fees are fully paid before collection, where applicable

  • Provide all required belongings, medication, paperwork or feeding instructions before transport

AJ’s Pet Services reserves the right to refuse transport if a pet is considered unsafe, aggressive, severely unwell or poses a risk to itself or others.

4. Transport Arrangements & Communication

All collection and drop-off arrangements are bespoke to each journey and may vary depending on:

  • The opening and closing times of the boarding kennels, day care facility, vet practice or venue

  • Traffic and travel conditions

  • The individual needs of the pet

Owners are responsible for ensuring all important information, booking details, feeding instructions, medications, emergency contacts and requirements are clearly written down or emailed directly to the boarding facility, day care provider, vet practice or venue before arrival.

AJ’s Pet Services is solely responsible for the safe transportation of pets only.

While AJ’s Pet Services will always try to pass on messages during collections and drop-offs where possible, owners are still responsible for communicating directly with the venue to ensure all information has been received correctly.

For safety reasons, AJ’s Pet Services reserves the right to use an alternative lead, slip lead or safety restraint if it is believed a pet may slip its collar/harness or otherwise become unsafe during handling or transport.

5. Delays & Cancellations

While every effort is made to maintain agreed timings, transport times may occasionally vary due to:

  • Traffic

  • Emergencies

  • Delays at vet practices or boarding facilities

  • Weather conditions

  • Animal welfare needs

AJ’s Pet Services reserves the right to cancel or rearrange appointments at short notice due to:

  • Vehicle breakdown

  • Illness

  • Emergencies

  • Unsafe weather conditions

  • Circumstances beyond reasonable control

If this occurs, clients will be notified as soon as possible.

6. Emergency Veterinary Treatment

In the event of an emergency, AJ’s Pet Services reserves the right to seek veterinary treatment for a pet if the owner cannot be contacted immediately.

Any veterinary costs incurred remain the responsibility of the owner.

7. Aggressive or Dangerous Dogs

Owners must disclose any history of aggression, biting, anxiety or reactivity before booking.

AJ’s Pet Services reserves the right to refuse or terminate transport services if a dog behaves aggressively or dangerously.

Any damage caused by a pet to the vehicle, equipment or third parties may be charged to the owner.

8. Payments

Payment terms will be agreed at the time of booking.

Outstanding balances may result in cancellation of future bookings.

Card payments are not currently accepted unless agreed in advance.

9. Photography & Social Media

AJ’s Pet Services may occasionally take photographs/videos of pets for social media or promotional purposes unless the owner requests otherwise in writing.

10. Agreement

By accepting our Terms & Conditions when submitting your agreement with us, the owner confirms that:

  • All information provided is accurate

  • They are authorised to make decisions for the pet

  • They agree to these Terms & Conditions in full
